Church Mouse Blog 13 (New Year to Summer 2011)
This blog records all of the important, memorable or disastrous events which occur at All Saints and in the Parish of Poplar.
It therefore provides a narrative and pictorial record of the people and events in Poplar.
You may wonder why this old mouse likes it so much at All saints'. But we always seem to get the right balance between worship, trying to be better disciples of Jesus, enjoying good social intercourse, and eating and drinking as a celebration of our life as a Church.
January 1st is always a midday mass followed by a social get together over lunch in the Rectory. As usual the Rector did us proud with food and wine to satisy even this fat old mouse.
So another year begins - I wonder what sorrows and delights this new year will hold

Another old saint moves on to heaven - Elsie Orwell
Oh Dear - my old friend Elsie has moved on. When I get my marbles back I'll write a litte about this lovely lady - the Princess of Poplar.

What has happened to the mouse ?
You will have observed that something serious has happenend to the church mouse. Has he left, gone abroad, been in jail, or on an extended honeymoon? Well the answer is - none of the above!
There comes a time in life when everything gets on top of you. Everyday living becomes an effort and a mist descends. Well, I went to the MHS (not much better that the human equivalent) and saw my doctor who sent me to a shrink, who sent me back again, and several months later I was given some pills, which made me worse, so I ended up in hospital, and was lucky to escape alive.
So I'm now back in the crypt, ready to be fed and entertained by the antics of the Saints upstairs. Of course they are all now all on holiday so it is nice and quiet. I'll get out my paper and pencil and send you reports "as they happen" in the new rag "The News of the All Saints' World".
