Pastoral Care in the Parish
All Saints and St. Nicholas Parish Churches are set beside the A13 and sit within the shadow of Canary Wharf. Our congregation and visitors are drawn from both the local area and the wider community. We aim to do our best to provide appropriate pastoral care to our congregation, our staff and visitors to the Parish. We understand that people do not always know what is available, thispage summarises what we have to offer here at All Saints and St. Nicholas.
One of the most powerful resources we have is each other and we should not underestimate this.
The Pastoral Team
After Sunday services a member of the team will be available at refreshments or in the Parish Office. If you would like to speak to a member of the team feel free to come into the office. If there are people waiting, you can leave your details at the Office and someone from the team will contact you. Alternatively you can telephone the office and leave a message.
If you are ill or housebound
If you are ill - please let us know if you go into hospital so that we can get in touch with the hospital Chaplain on your behalf. We will also be able to arrange for one of the pastoral team or a member of the congregation to visit you. Your name will also be added to our prayer list.
If you are housebound – one of the Pastoral Team will regularly visit the housebound with the sacrament.
Pastoral Assistants and Bereavement Counsellor
Pastoral Assistants – there are three pastoral assistants in the Parish. Mrs Margaret Baker is mainly based at St. Nicholas' and Pat Triggs and Emma Triggs are based at All Saints'. Their role includes visiting and supporting members of the congregation – if you would like a visit in your home please leave your name at the office and they will arrange to see you.
Bereavement Counsellor - we have the services of a bereavement counsellor at All Saints. If you would like to talk to her please leave your details with Father Alan and he will pass them on.
Church Open
In addition to the advertised weekly services, All Saints' and St. Nicholas' are usually open on a daily basis between 12.00 and 2.00. Please feel free to come and visit where members of the congregation are available.
To enable us to continue to care for you through prayer and our visiting programme, it is important that you let one of the Pastoral Team know your situation.
