Within the Parish of Poplar there are now four Readers. During the last week in November 2008 our three readers were re-licensed and a fourth reader was also licenced into our parish. David Howard is our newest member of staff.
John Milbank has been attending churches in the parish for 56 years. He started attending St Michael's (now closed) when he was 4yrs old. He was a server at 12 yrs and is now head server at All Saints. He was appointed reader in 2000. He works as a design engineer for Sortex, who make machines for the food industry. With Janice, his wife, he organises trips and social activities within the church.
Helen Palmer has been a reader since 2003. She is married with two children. She has been at All Saints for 35 years. Within the parish she undertakes teaching and pastoral duties. She is a friend of St Saviour's Priory in Haggerston, likes all kinds of music and loves gardening.
Michael Keytewas made a reader in 2006. Within the Church he also acts as sub organist and plays when Brian Hagger is away. He studied music at the Trinity College of Music. He has now retired from working in the transport industry.
David Howard - our latest Reader was first licensed in 2001 whilst at St. Mark's Church in Dalston, having previously worshipped at St. Mary's Church in Walthamstow for 33 years. David and his wife Barbara, who is now in the choir, came to All Saints in 2007 and was licensed here in November 2008. He continues to work as a Development and Technical Manager for CitywestHomes.
